Customer-Furnished Film for Printed Packaging Materials
If sending film for printed packaging materials (vs. digital files), the film must meet the following additional standards:
- Film must be right reading, emulsion-down, negative.
- Film density should be a minimum of 3.5 and a fog maximum of 0.08. (Please allow solid 1" x 1" to check film density.)
- Film must show a reference number such as material part number, selection number, UPC code and/or bar code to identify film. For proper inventory tracking purposes, we require a unique part number.
- Film size should be 1" minimum around outside of trim marks and color information.
- If you are sending us 4-color film, include a color key or matchprint proof of the film to confirm color accuracy, color breaks and correct position of PMS colors, graphics and text. If the film you furnish is for less than 4-color process printing, include a digital color proof or separated laser showing the color breaks and positions of PMS colors. (Digital color proofs do not depict 4-color process, nor do they accurately depict PMS colors.)
